2. Kyle Orton is back baby!

Reports of Kyle Orton’s demise have been greatly exaggerated. The man with the best neckbeard in sports has been named the starting quarterback in Buffalo, after four weeks of awfulness from former first-round pick EJ Manuel.

Manuel is only in his second NFL season and has made just 14 starts, but man has he been terrible during his time with the Bills. I mean, he lost his job to Kyle freaking Orton, you know how bad you have to be to have that happen? Tim Tebow beat out Orton in Denver. A few months ago it looked like Orton was going to retire, now Manuel can’t fend him off? That doesn’t bode well for the 24-year-old Florida State product.

In his career, Manuel has completed just 58.6 percent of his passes for 2,810 yards, with 16 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. His quarterback rating is a dismal 78.5 and this season his Total QBR is 19.8, which ranks 32nd out of the 33 quarterbacks who qualify. That statistic is so bad it’s actually gone past sad and back around to hilarious. If Manuel’s QBR was an emoji it would be a frowning face falling into an overfilled dumpster on fire.

Can Manuel figure it out and work his way into a productive NFL career? Sure. Will he? After watching him throw this pass I’m gonna go ahead and say no.

We know who and what Orton is at this point in his career. He will make some throws that convince you he can help your team, then toss a few that make you go cross-eyed and nearly put you in an early grave. He’s 31, won’t do much to help the Bills and may wind up hurting them. But at this point you can’t convince me Manuel is a better option under center.

We will see how Orton performs in his first game back, as he will lead the 2-2 Bills into Ford Field to face the 3-1 Detroit Lions. Just in case Orton sets the team on a crazy run, here’s a version of the Super Bowl Shuffle made just for them.
