The Chicago Bulls are trying to win an NBA title this season and are in their best position since 2011 to do so. One way that the team can stay good over the course of the next few years though is to lock up its young talent — namely, Jimmy Butler.

Butler has proved to be a star for the Bulls since they drafted him out of Marquette a few years ago, and it’s come time to pay him what he’s owed.
According to Nick Friedell of ESPNChicago.com, Butler says contract talks are going good between himself and the Bulls.
"“They definitely are [working on it],” he said. “I think we’re really good right now, moving in the right direction. But that’s between them. I just got to be with my teammates and whatever I do between myself and that basket will handle that a lot easier.”"
Butler is going to be a huge part of the Bulls core moving forward, and keeping him is crucial. He won’t be cheap, but Butler is at the point in his career where he can be had for a decent contract.
In the end, something will likely get worked out between Chicago and Butler, and fans will rest a lot easier once he’s locked up for the long term.
