Dion Waiters: Men Lie, Women Lie, BUCKETS DON’T LIE

If LeBron James’ greatest contribution to the Cavaliers is simply exposing more people to the fun and enjoyable side of Dion Waiters, it will be time well spent.

As has been chronicled on The Friendly Bounce earlier this week, Waiters has been engaging in a seemingly light-hearted — at least until they meet for the first time this season — war of words with John Wall and Bradley Beal on who the best backcourt in the NBA is. After Wall swung back by saying that “you need to be a starter” before you can declare yourself the best backcourt in the league, Waiters decided to take matters into his own hands on Twitter by tweeting out his own highlight tape with a new catchphrase that should sweep the nation.

“Men lie, women lie, BUCKETS DON’T LIE.”

We need to put this on a shirt. We need to broadcast this for the world to see. We need to have Rasheed Wallace screaming it and getting techicals for it. Hell, I think we need to put it on the side of the Cavaliers’ new hideous court design.

While I will now undoubtedly be adding this phrase to my Twitter bio, that’s not even the best part of this tweet. The best part of it resides in the fact that Waiters, in an attempt to show his superiority as a scorer, linked to a video with this description:

“If you want to understand why Dion Waiters isn’t a good player, this would be a good video to watch.”

[Editor’s note: emphasis added because HOLY HELL YES.]

Even in his obliviousness, Dion Waiters is the best, and no one can convince me otherwise.
