NBA Odds: Who is the Atlantic Division favorite?
By Wes Goldberg
The NBA’s Atlantic Division might be the worst in the entire league, but it does have one team–the Toronto Raptors–who can be a real contender in the Eastern Conference.

Other than that, however, the Atlantic is fraught with teams passing separate mile markers on the path to a championship. Toronto seems to be nearing closer to the Chicago Bulls and LeBron Jameses, but the Brooklyn Nets have regressed and the New York Knicks may finally be starting to sort of beginning to get their [edit] together.
The Boston Celtics and Phialdelphia 76ers? If they come in last this season, it will be a win for them, as they continue to peddle through the disregard-wins-acquire-assets phase of team building.
Our friends at Bovada sent over their updated divisional odds for the upcoming season.
Odds to win 2015 Atlantic Division
Toronto Raptors 6/5
Brooklyn Nets 2/1
New York Knicks 2/1
Boston Celtics 25/1
Philadelphia 76ers 100/1
Oh, hey, that’s the way the Atlantic standings finished last season. It makes sense, the biggest two moves in the division came from the Raptors re-signing Kyle Lowry and the Knicks convincing Phil Jackson to do stuff for them. While you won’t make much money betting on the Raptors, it’s among the safest bets in the NBA (and that’s why you won’t make much money. As you do, Las Vegas).
I find it interesting that even though the Celtics are rebuilding, their odds are four-times better than those of the 76ers. I guess Rajon Rondo will do that? Meanwhile, the Knicks and Nets have the same odds. Even if you combined those two teams–heck, throw in Rondo and Nerlens Noel, too–I’m not sure that team has a better chance at winning the division than the team Drake represents.
So, are you excited for the NBA season yet?
