I might have gotten a D-plus in trigonometry (which is the study of triangles, I would later learn) in high school, but math isn’t really that hard. Watch.

LeBron James + NBA Team =NBA Championship Contending Team

See? I did it! Told you, Mr. Evans!

Anyway, oddsmakers can do math, too (shrugs off lousy transition).

Our friends over at Bovada did us the favor of sending FanSided its latest divisional odds.

Odds to win 2015 Central Division

Cleveland Cavaliers                   1/2

Chicago Bulls                            7/4

Indiana Pacers                          10/1

Detroit Pistons                          50/1

Milwaukee Bucks                       200/1

James is on the Cleveland Cavaliers, which makes them the favorites. We’ve discussed this. The Chicago Bulls, as evidenced by the odds, will be right on their tails though. With Derrick Rose returning and Pau Gasol signing with the team in the offseason, they are also considered the third-favorite to win the NBA title.

Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers might be the worst bet in all the land, with 10-to-1 odds. With Rodney Stuckey as their best offensive player, the Pacers still have better odds to win its division than the New York Knicks have of winning the Atlantic.

Then we have the Stan Van Gundy-led, Josh Smith-burdened Detroit Pistons at 50-to-1. If Andre Drummond comes on strong, I could see them placing over the Pacers this season.

The Bucks are listed at 200-to-1, but I don’t know what Bovada is thinking. You wouldn’t bet on a team with a 19-year-old kid who might be running the point for the first time in his life, a power hungry coach and O.J. Mayo to win its division? Oh, yeah, me neither.
