Nick Novak is one of those players, as the San Diego Chargers kicker has earned himself yet another AFC Special Teams Player of the Week award. Novak was mint against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday afternoon and continues to be one of the more reliable kickers in the game.
That’s a tough thing to do too, as the kicker turnover rate is extremely high over the last ten years and flash in the pan names like Greg Zuerlein and others have faded a bit since the kicking boom of 2012. But Novak as been an ace for the Chargers, and is one of the most consistent scorers the team has.
Now that they’re actually good, Novak’s leg is becoming more and more valuable as a playoff run seems inevitable for San Diego.
