The Boston Celtics are trying to figure out their roster this year, and that means finding out what the future holds for the veterans on the roster. It’s basically assumed that all of the veterans will be traded this year or in the near future, but the biggest name on that list is Rajon Rondo.

According to Alex Kennedy from Basketball Insiders, it’s likely that Rondo will be traded at the deadline as the Celtics are rebuilding.

"I think he will be traded. The team is clearly rebuilding … I love what Boston has done stockpiling picks and prospects, but I can’t see Rondo being patient with their rebuild at his age. Moving him is the best option because they can get something back for him rather than losing him for nothing next summer."

Trading Rondo has been an idea the Celtics have apparently had for years, as trade rumors with him are not a new thing. But this is the realest those rumors have gotten and that means we could see moved by the deadline. There’s no certainty that Rondo will be moved but the consensus — even with a broken hand — is that Rondo will be on the move this year.
