The Los Angeles Dodgers are one of the scariest teams in the 2014 MLB Postseason, thanks in large part to the fact that they have a trio of aces at the top of their starting rotation. Clayton Kershaw, Zack Greinke, and Hyun-Jin Ryu form a group that is as tough as any in all of baseball.

There was some doubt as to Ryu’s availability for the start of the postseason, however, as he dealt with a shoulder injury that kept him out of multiple starts during the final month of the season.

Ryu threw a simulated game this week and, to the relief of the entire Dodgers organization, he will start Game 3 of their NL Division Series against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Having won the division and taken the time to rest up before the start of the NLDS, the Dodgers are lined up to start Kershaw, Greinke, and Ryu for the first three games of the series. For all the talk and fanfare about the rest of their roster, that is a core reason why the Dodgers are an elite team this season.

In 26 starts this season, Ryu went 14-7 with a 3.38 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, 2.62 FIP, and 8.2 K/9. Ryu would be the number one starter for many teams, potentially giving the Dodgers a notable advantage in the middle of a playoff series.
