Keys to Victory

The Packers need to come out and have the kind of game they did against the Bears as that was the best they’ve played all season. They may end up catching the lucky kind of break they did with Jay Cutler in Christian Ponder starting at quarterback for Minnesota as passing the ball is not his strong suit — like at all.

As for the Vikings, things will come down to how well they can manage whatever is going on at quarterback. Defensively though, the team needs to make sure they don’t let Aaron Rodgers loose like the Bears did. Containing Eddie Lacey will be key and limiting the time Rodgers has to make decisions in the pocket will be crucial to stunting the Packers attack.

Prediction

The Vikings need this game to establish themselves as a threat in the NFC North. The Packers are always a scary team but the Vikings need to have a signature win under it’s belt with this current regime. Mike Zimmer has beaten the Packers in the past but the Vikings have struggled in recent years to do that. Minnesota fans are hoping Zimmer’s success in the past and the swagger coming off the win against the Falcons will result in a 3-2 start on the season.

Final Score: Vikings 31, Packers 28
