The New Orleans Pelicans are trying to put together a winning roster, and now have a newly designed court to play on.

New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis is a rising star in the NBA, but he’s on a team that is still rebuilding. everything about the Pelicans is changing, from the identity of the team to the schemes and even the court.

When the Pelicans hit the hardwood later this month for the preseason and eventually the regular season, they’ll be doing it on a new court. The arena has stayed the same, but the Pelicans will be playing on a court that has been re-designed this offseason.

This is a pretty wild design for a basketball court, as it feels like something out of college rather than the pros. Some pretty outrageous court designs exist in college basketball — look no further than Oregon’s court — but it does help give a team some sense of being at home.

It also doesn’t look that bad either, as it’s rather cool looking for what it is. then again, it’s inside of a building dubbed the Smoothie King, so let’s not get too overboard with thinking New Orleans is on the cutting edge of cool.
