Ottawa Senators sign Bobby Ryan to 7-year deal worth over $50M

Ottawa Senators star Bobby Ryan needed a new contract, and the team handed him a massive 7-year deal worth over $50 million.
The Ottawa Senators missed the Stanley Cup Playoffs last year but they’re making strides towards putting together a team that will win a lot in the future. the Ales Hemsky trade failed to create a spark but the Sens have made another move to fortify their future.

According to TSN’s Bob McKenzie, the Ottawa Seantors and star Bobby Ryan have agreed to a new 7-year contract. Ryan’s new deal will pay him over $50 million in total dollars and over $7 million per season.
This is news that Ottawa Senators fans are going to wake up happy to, as locking down Ryan is critical to the team’s future success. The next thing the Ottawa Senators need to do is build around Ryan, as the star is locked in and ready to lead the team into the future.
It’s a task easier said than done, but the Ottawa Senators are just a year removed from being in the playoffs and returning there this year is a very attainable goal. Work needs to be done across the board, but the team knows how to win and having Ryan back for the next seven years is going to help give the Ottawa Senators direction that they need.
