Packers bolster defensive line, add Luther Robinson
By Bobby Agnese
You can never have too many defensive lineman, especially when headed into a hard-nosed showdown with a divisional rival. The Green Bay Packers have added some insurance to their defense, adding defensive end Luther Robinson to the active roster, the team announced Thursday.

Green Bay’s defense needs all the help it can get, and the addition of Robinson provides another reliable body. The rookie played in all four preseason games, showing the team enough promise to land a developmental spot on their practice squad.
A gritty guy in the trenches, Robinson was un-drafted out of Miami and he’s almost certainly got something to prove. He did not impress that many teams initially, as they passed on him during the initial free agency wave immediately following the 2014 draft. After a solid showing at a rookie camp-tryout, Robinson finally earned a jersey with the Packers.
The promotion of the rookie to the active roster is most likely a sign that DE Josh Boyd (doubtful) will not be suiting up. Boyd has been fighting an injury he suffered in last weeks’ battle against the Bears.
