Cleveland Cavaliers Rumors: Greg Monroe unlikely to be acquired
By Josh Hill
Cleveland Cavaliers fans have been waiting years for the roster to come together, but there is still a giant missing piece that Greg Monroe could possibly fill.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have LeBron James, Kevin Love and a slew of veterans they added this season on roster to make sure an NBA title is won in 2014-15. But the roster is far from perfect, as the Cavs need a rim protector like Kim Kardashian needs a new background to take a selfie against — badly.

One of the names that has popped up in recent days is Detroit Pistons big man Greg Monroe. He’s on a one-year qualifying offer in Detroit which makes him an interesting trade chip this season.
Larry Coon of Basketball Insiders believes the Cavliers are unlikely to acquire Greg Monroe this season in a trade.
Cleveland no doubt needs a rim protector, but the team has little to offer in a trade. Beyond that, as Coon points out, the Cavaliers have money allotted elsewhere on the roster. LeBron James needs to be paid again within the next two years, Kevin Love won’t be taking a big discount to stay and both Dion Waiters and Tristan Thompson will see their rookie contracts run out soon.
Getting Monroe is a great idea, but it’s best left to the 2K15 users of the world and not the front office in Cleveland.
