Markieff Morris just inked a new deal with the Phoenix Suns and he is now going to be moving around the frontcourt to earn every dollar of his contract.

The Phoenix Suns loved going with smaller lineups last season and had Channing Fry playing a stretch center position at some points last year. With two point guards on the floor at the same time, the Suns used the small lineups to space the floor and create slashing lanes for their young star guards.

With Channing Frye leaving for the Orlando Magic in free agency this summer it looks like the Suns plan on playing Markieff Morris in that same floor stretching role.

The Phoenix Suns sent out this tweet saying Morris will be playing center at certain times over the course of this upcoming season:

Both Markieff and his twin brother Marcus signed extensions this off-season in order to stay with the Suns and it looks like their roles will increase with the departure of a few Suns players from last season leaving in free agency. Markieff was fourth in voting for the sixth man of the year award last season after averaging 15.8 points off the bench for Phoenix.

Markieff only shot 31 percent from three last season, but has said in media interviews in the past few weeks that he has been working on his outside shot, as has his brother. If Markieff can improve that shot from beyond the arc he should have no trouble filling in that stretch five role and taking over where Channing Frye left off for the Suns.
