Coming off a dominant Wild Card victory, the San Francisco Giants travel to Washington D.C. for an intriguing match-up in the National League Division Series against the Nationals. Washington enters the postseason playing their best baseball of the season, but if any team can match them as far as momentum entering the series, it would be the Giants.

The Nationals will have their ace Stephen Strasburg on the mound for Game 1. “It’s a tremendous opportunity, and I think I’m just excited for getting a chance to pitch in the postseason,” Strasburg said about starting in the playoffs, via the Washington Post. “It doesn’t really matter who I’m facing.”

The Giants are underdogs in this series, yet they are the team with guys who have been there before. They have a bunch of guys with World Series rings. As for the Nationals, they still have to prove that they can get it done in October.

Jake Peavy will start for the Giants opposite Strasburg for the Nationals.
