There was more to the Ray Rice case, the Adrian Peterson case took multiple turns and now the Ray McDonald case has entered the ‘oh really, now’ stage.

The NFL has a domestic abuse epidemic at the moment, and the cases keep getting weirder and weirder the more we learn about them. This is now the case for Ray McDonald, who’s domestic abuse arrest just got a little more fishy.

According to the original story, McDonald was arrested at his home after an alleged domestic abuse situation arose at his birthday party. But where things start to get weird is now new details are emerging that seem to suggest more was going on than we thought — maybe.

ABC7 News reports that Ray McDonald, in addition to having the local police called, summoned a 49ers-paid police officer to the scene as well.

"One of the things that complicated the case is that McDonald apparently called a San Jose police officer either before, or about the time that the 911 call was made and that officer went to the home.Reliable sources inside the police department said the officer also works as security at 49ers games."

Ray McDonald didn’t do anything that wrong here, as the police were called and they showed up. It’s just, it looks really bad that it was a 49ers-paid cop as the conflict of interest involved here could result in the case going to a level that will roast McDonald and move onto the next case.
