Dallas cowboys cornerback Morris Claiborne has been lost for the season, and the move to make it official today may throw his future with the team in doubt.
The Dallas Cowboys have not had a great start to their season, but their huge win over the New Orleans Saints last week is the type of win that can turn a season around. But the win came at a cost, as Morris Claiborne was injured in the game and was feared to be lost for the season.

Earlier this week it was discovered that Claiborne’s knee injury was season-ending, and that was something made official on Saturday. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Cowboys officially placed Morris Claiborne on injured reserve, ending his season.

The injury carries a number of interesting scenarios, as the Cowboys will need to pay Claiborne in the near future if they want to keep him on their roster, but that’s not something they’re guaranteed to be doing. He came to Dallas by way of Rob Ryan, who barely got time to coach the cornerback before he was fired and moved to New Orleans.
That might be a destination for Claiborne, as it’s likely that the Cowboys aren’t going to make him an offer he likes — even if it’s the best one he may get.
