The Nationals made a late surge in Game 1, rallying but failing to drive in the tying run. “We’ve seen it happen so many times,” first baseman Adam LaRoche said after the game, via CSN Washington. “We’ve been able to fight back. We were just waiting for it to happen. We got close. We just couldn’t push that run across.”
As for the Giants, they will try to just keep the good vibes going. It seems that Bruce Bochy and company specialize in winning tight, tense games, and that is what they did again in Game 1 on Friday.
Tim Hudson will start for the Giants opposite Jordan Zimmerman for the Nationals.
