Strange things are going on with the Columbus Blue Jackets twitter

I like to think that I’m kind of funny, in this self-deprecating, sarcastic way. I extend this to when I do NHL play-by-plays.

How wrong I am.

The era of hilarious, fan-engaging official team Twitter accounts began with the L.A. Kings’ Twitter. It seemed that no one could really top them for hilarity, fan involvement, and outright sass. Then, the Columbus Blue Jackets Twitter joined the party.

There was one notable cross-over between the two accounts during the playoffs, when it seemed that the two were in an illicit relationship. Is that even possible? They’re Twitter accounts. Are they run by married couples? So many questions, Columbus Blue Jackets; you made life that much harder.

Then, the Columbus Blue Jackets twitter really took off. The team has been particularly funny all summer. For instance, it chose to gain more followers this way:

The team is currently down 1-0 with just six minutes to go in the second period, playing against the Minnesota Wild. It seems that the team’s Twitter account, which might be being run by an extremely drunk fan, is a little bored with this. They’ve started to spice things up :
