Known as a poor defender, Houston Rockets’ guard James Harden has vowed to make a change on that end

Houston Rockets’ guard James Harden has developed into of the NBA’s premiere scorers. James Harden, however, has never been known for his defense. In fact, he’s been widely criticized on that side of the court.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, James Harden has promised to make a commitment to defense.

"Around the Rockets, they’ll tell you: Howard was deferential to Harden a year ago. Howard eased his way into the franchise, never trying to cramp Harden on offense, never chastising him much for his absentee defense. Harden has promised to make a greater commitment on that end, and only time will tell"

James Harden has the talent and athleticism to at leas be a solid defender so it is all about what kind of work he puts in on that end.

James Harden averaged 25.4 points, 6.1 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game while shooting 45.6% from the field, 36.6% from beyond the arc and 86.6% from the free throw line. In his career, James Harden has put up 18.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 44.5% from the floor, 36.9% from three and 84.9% from the charity stripe.
