Every weekend someone is unhappy with officials, it is just part of sports. There is always the human element that referees bring, and they’re not perfect and make mistakes.

It isn’t fair always, but it is just a reality.

Still, that didn’t stop Iowa State director of athletics Jamie Pollard from going off and ripping officials after the game.

From Sports Illustrated:

"“We can’t get that back,” Pollard said. “That ends careers for football coaches, AD’s and presidents. And so something’s got to be done. I don’t know what it is, but there needs to be more accountability on what happens in certain situations.”Asked what his “next step” is, Pollard said: “We’ll deal with it internally like we should. I just felt there needed to be a public statement, because this is about Iowa State University, and it’s not fair for our institution to continually be put in this position and not be able to comment.”"

At least he didn’t pull a Pat Haden, the director of athletics for USC, and go down on the field to complain to the referees face-to-face. Guess the Iowa State coaches aren’t allowed to text during the game.
