Iowa State went down to Stillwater for a football game, but what they got was an old fashioned beatdown instead.
There was a chance that Iowa State could upset No. 21 ranked Oklahoma State, at least that was the feeling in the Cyclones locker room. Then they took the field and things just started piling up on them, as Oklahoma State blew away their Big 12 rivals.

Iowa State managed to keep things close, at least initially but the game got way out of hand in rather quick succession. With the score tied 6-6 in the first quarter, the Cyclones failed to field a kick off and ended up allowing a touchdown on the ensuing possession by Oklahoma State. That then set the Cowboys off as they kept their distance from the Cyclones and never let them back into the game.
Oklahoma State’s offense had a monster game as they scored in just about every way they could. Desmond Roland went for 95 yards and two touchdowns, while his running mate Tyreeke Hill returned a 97 yard kickoff for a touchdown of his own.
The only bright spot for the Cyclones was E.J. Bibbs, who had six catched for 69 yards an a pair of touchdowns on the afternoon. His second score of the day came with under a minute left to make the score 37-20, but all it did was make the loss look less bad.
Iowa State is toast after this game, as they fall to an abysmal 1-4 on the season and 0-3 in the conference. On the other side though, the Cowboys are 4-1 and remain undefeated in the Big 12, which puts them right in the thick of not only the race to win the conference but to continue to rise up the Top 25 and gun for a playoff spot this postseason.
