There is a long way to go for the Giants, of course, but they have to be flying high after stealing Game 1 on the road. “It means the world for us to come in here, against the best team in the National League, to get Game 1,” starting pitcher Jake Peavy said after the game, via the San Francisco Chronicle.
By winning this opening game, the Giants defeated Washington ace Stephen Strasburg. Now they will turn their attention to the other studs in the Washington rotation as they try to pull the upset in the NLDS.
Tim Hudson will start for the Giants opposite Jordan Zimmerman for the Nationals on Saturday for Game 2 of this series.
