Qualen Cunningham delivered a helmet-to-helmet hit on�Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott on Saturday. The hit cost him, as he was ejected from the game for targeting.
The Texas A&M Aggies and Mississippi State Bulldogs are playing one of a number of key SEC games on Saturday. Things got nasty early in this game, to the extent that an Aggie defender was ejected from the game.

Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott rolled around the left edge on an option play in the first quarter of this game. He read the defender, namely Qualen Cunningham, and saw that he had committed to hitting the QB. Prescott made the right decision and pitched to his running back. After the pitch, however, he paid a steep price.
Cunningham absolutely blasted Prescott, hitting him helmet-to-helmet and earning an ejection from this game. Check out the hit below.
The penalty called on Qualen Cunningham on this play was targeting. It is perfectly reasonable to see why this is considered a serious offense because this was a dangerous hit on Prescott, who did remain in the game.
As if the 12th ranked Bulldogs needed any more motivation to defeat the 6th ranked Aggies in this game, they might have gotten it with this hit on their quarterback.
