Philly Brown pulls off amazing punt return for Panthers

This may actually be the most amazing punt return you ever see. Carolina Panthers punt returner Philly Brown waits on a punt from the Chicago Bears, is interfered with, and then in all the confusion, grabs the ball and takes it to the house.

Brown was drilled by just-signed Bears special teamer Teddy Williams before having a chance to catch a punt, drawing a flag. But, the play didn’t stop as there was no whistle and Brown played the smart move, got up after getting destroyed on the hit, scooped up the ball and took it to the house.

More from Carolina Panthers

The Panthers struck first after the return made the score 7-0 in their favor. The Panthers are hosting the Chicago Bears and both teams hold a 2-2 record coming into the game with hopes that they don’t fall below .500.

The punt return touchdown by Philly Brown was the Panthers’ first punt return touchdown since former Panther Steve Smith (who annihilated his former team last week) did it in December of 2003, over 10 years ago.

The Chicago Bears came out conservative, choosing to run the ball three times to start the game which led to a three and out before Philly Brown was able to scoop up the loose ball after the fumble on the punt and take it to the end zone.

You may see this play for the rest of the season.
