Bears take lead over Panthers with Cutler to Jeffrey TD (Video)
Jay Cutler hits Alshon Jeffery for the Bears TD
The Chicago Bears took the lead over the Carolina Panthers early in the second quarter when quarterback Jay Cutler hit receiver Alshon Jeffery on a screen pass that Jeffery was able to run all the way in untouched for a 25-yard score and a 14-7 lead.
The touchdown was set up by great blocking from fellow receivers Martellus Bennett and Brandon Marshall, as Jeffery was able to waltz into the end zone. With that score, the Panthers defense, who was rated as one of the best in the league, has now given up 96 points in their last 10 quarters.

The Panthers and Bears both come into the game 2-2, coming off of blowout losses in week four. Both teams are looking to take out their anger on each other and find a win. The Panthers are 0-2 since winning their first two games of the season. The Bears took a tough division loss to the Packers in week four and will look to their strong offense to lead them past a struggling Panthers defense in this game.
The touchdown is Cutler’s 11th touchdown of the year and Jeffery’s second of the year. Jeffery is coming off a career best season in 2013 when he caught for over 1,400 yards and seven touchdowns.
