Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin said he’s comfortable with his decision to not play with Team USA this summer, as he’s been able to both recover from a back fracture and prepare for the upcoming season.

Griffin said the summer gave him time to strengthen and prepare his back for the upcoming year, but added the back fracture was a minor issue from the start. Grifin also said he’s having the best training camp yet in his career, mostly because the team has played together for more than a year, and everyone is comfortable with each other and their roles.
Griffin also said Clippers newcomers Spencer Hawes, Jordan Farmar, Chris Douglas-Roberts and Ekpe Udoh fit in with Los Angeles “seamlessly,” as all of the players have been in the league for a few years and know “the ins and outs.”
The 25-year old enters his fifth NBA season, and said while he continues to work on his outside shooting, he’s not necessarily considering his corner-three shot as an offensive weapon or even option.
“I’m not really concerned about shooting corner 3’s,” Griffin told the Orange County Register. “It’s just something I shot this summer just to shoot. It’s not something I was concentrating on.”
