The Chicago Bears and Carolina Panthers both come into their week five match up with a 2-2 record, trying to stay afloat in their respective divisions. The Bears continue to have defensive players sit, while the Panthers find themselves struggling to keep running backs healthy.

More from Carolina Panthers

The Bears are struggling after a comeback win against the 49ers in week three, but a dismal loss to conference rival Green Bay Packers in week four 38-17. They’re trying to bounce back and hand the Carolina Panthers their third straight loss.

The Panthers have allowed 75 points the last two weeks after yielding 21 over the first two. They gave up an average of 201.7 passing yards in the first three games before Joe Flaccothrew for 327 in last Sunday’s 38-10 loss at Baltimore.

Bears defensive end Jared Allen sat out in week four due to pneumonia, but was confident that he would be back and ready to play in week five, however, he will sit the sidelines Sunday.

The Panthers are suffering at the running back position with Jonathan Stewart, DeAngelo Williams and Mike Tolbert all out with leg injuries. They signed Chris Ogbonnaya last week and he will split carries with un-drafted rookie Darren Reaves as well as Fozzy Whitaker.
