Kirk Herbstreit predicts the College Football Playoff after a wild Week 6

Well one of the people that had to do a little rearranging was ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit, who had a few of the teams that he had predicted to make the College Football Playoff fall, like most of us did on Saturday.

So how does Herbie see the College Football Playoff shaping out, should it be played today after that wild Saturday? Well, here’s a look:

These four teams seem to be the consensus among a lot of people.

By far, Auburn looked like the best team in the country in their 41-7 blowout win over LSU. The offense is clicking on all cylinders at this point, and the Tigers look mighty tough to stop.

Florida State struggled early with Wake Forest, however they did ultimately pull away big in the second half. Still, people are skeptical about the defending champions, as they haven’t looked as dominant as some thought they would be coming into the year.

As for Mississippi State, well going back to a team that could possibly stop Auburn, this team just might be the ones to do it, and they will get that chance next week when they welcome in the Tigers to Starkville. On Saturday, the Bulldogs made a serious statement by just steamrolling the No. 6 Texas A&M Aggies.

Then, we have the Baylor Bears. Baylor defeated Texas 28-7 on Saturday and are still unbeaten. Their long-term success, though, relies on the health of quarterback Bryce Petty.

What do you think? Who would you put in the College Football Playoff, were it to be played today? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
