Nothing is imminent with the DeMarco Murray talks
The Dallas Cowboys currently have one of the best running backs in the league on their roster in DeMarco Murray, and they are talking with him about a potential contract extension. Murray’s deal expires after this season, so Dallas needs to make a decision on whether or not they want to lock him up for a few more years. There are some concerns surrounding Murray right now, but the Cowboys more than likely will try to lock him up to a new deal.

Unfortunately, while Murray is having a huge season as far as the good stats are concerned, he is also leading the league with four fumbles.
Wow, another DeMarco Murray fumble. Leads the NFL with four lost fumbles.

While those four fumbles are certainly concerning, Murray also has put up monster stats. He has carried the football 99 times for 534 yards and five touchdowns entering today’s game with the Houston Texans, and has also caught nine passes for 68 yards. Dallas is currently sitting at 3-1, and Murray is the biggest reason for that record.
At 26 years of age, Murray has plenty of good football left in his career. He has had quite a few injuries throughout his young career, but he is showing what type of player he is capable of being when he is on the field consistently each and every week. Dallas desperately needs to surround Tony Romo with talent, and the ground game has been a way to keep the extra pressure off of the passing game.
Needless to say, these extension talks are going to be very interesting to keep an eye on over the next few weeks. Dallas and Murray both like the production and usage that he has seen this year, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see them come to an agreement on a long-term deal. Expect to hear more rumors surrounding Murray and the Cowboys over the next couple of weeks.
