The Clippers selected Griffin with the first pick of the 2009 NBA draft, and in the redraft, the Clippers take Griffin again. His career in Los Angeles started off rough, as he missed his first season with knee problems. But Griffin has recovered and was named Rookie of the Year in 2010-11, made his first playoff appearance a year later and led the Clips to the 3rd seed in the Western Conference in the 2013-14 season with the help of Chris Paul. Griffin is a franchise building block who lived up to the billing of being selected with the first pick in the 2009 draft.

The Clippers originally picked Blake Griffin from Oklahoma. In his freshman season, he averaged 14.7 points and 9.1 rebounds at Oklahoma and led his team to a 23-12 record. However, he suffered a sprained MCL and elected to return to college for one more year to heal up and possibly take the Sooners to a Final Four. He averaged averaged 22.7 points, 14.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists as a sophomore and earned first team All-American honors. He also flashed the potential for becoming a great dunker in college with some highlight slams for the Sooners.
