NFL players can no longer appear on camera with Beats headphones

More from NFL

It’s become customary every Sunday to turn on the TV and see shots of our favorite NFL players warming up on the field, getting set for their respective games. Over the last few years, it’s also been a normal sight to see them either entering the stadium or warming up on the field with their Beats headphones on.

Well, those days are over.

The NFL has recently signed a sponsorship agreement with Bose, the rival company to Beats. Along with this new agreement that’s in place comes the obvious ruling that NFL stars can no longer be caught on camera sporting the Beats headphones.

Beats, understandably upset with the publicity that they’re losing, issued this short response to the command that their product can no longer be seen on Sundays on camera.

"“Over the last few years athletes have written Beats into their DNA as part of the pre-game ritual,” a Beats spokesperson said. “Music can have a significant positive effect on an athlete’s focus and mental preparedness and has become as important to performance as any other piece of equipment.”"

Okay, they’re a little upset, but saying that their headphones are written into their DNA might be stretching it a little bit. Most athletes will probably tell you that they don’t care how they get their music during pregame, as long as they can listen to it.

Plus, it’s not the end of the world. They’re not banned by the NBA, yet, and we know how many shots we get of basketball players walking into an arena with their Beats headphones wrapped around their ears.

Well, that is unless this is the start of an infiltration by Bose into the sports world. Then, yes, Beats, you’re doomed.
