NFL Week 5 Top Storylines: DeMarco Murray chasing history

Rashad Jennings, New York Giants
While the rest of the New York Giants offense struggled, running back Rashad Jennings was actually doing well. His numbers on the ground were so-so, but he equaled that output in receiving yards and was effective at moving the chains.
After a huge day against the Houston Texans in Week 3, where he had a career high of 176 yards on the ground, he came back down to earth against Washington, but don’t be fooled. Had he gotten a full compliment of carries, he would have another fantastic day. As it stood, the Giants got so far out in front of Washington so early that the team decided to give Jennings a break. After all, he had carried the ball 34 times the week before.
Jennings has been instrumental is getting this offense back on track and will be a huge part of the gameplan going forward. He’s never been the lead back for a full season though, and some might wonder if he can hold up the rate of production.
The Giants need him too, as rookie Andre Williams isn’t ready to take too much more of a share yet and the rest of the running backs lack the top end Jennings has.
How he holds up in the coming weeks will go a long way towards keeping the offense moving and the Giants in the division race.
