The Charlie Strong era at Texas continued to get off to a rough start on Saturday with a 28-7 loss to the Baylor Bears. Now while there were a lot of people who saw a slow start coming, given what Strong was handed, it’s disappointing nonetheless.

There are a lot of issues surrounding this team at the moment, but after the game, Strong pointed to a very crucial aspect of the game that this team just doesn’t get right now.
They don’t know how to get a victory, plain and simple.
“We don’t know how to win yet,” Strong said. “We don’t know how to finish.”
Strong, we knew, has to rebuild this entire program from the ground up in his vision. It has to also be remembered that these are not his kids he’s dealing with at the moment, rather most of these players are Mack Brown’s recruits. They were used to an entirely different regime, so of course all of this would take some getting used to.
Will the Longhorns learn how to win this season? Maybe they won’t. Maybe we won’t being to see flashes of a winning program at Texas until next year, or even the year after.
