Entering the 2014 NFL season, it appeared that Kyle Orton would be Tony Romo’s backup. However, Orton told the team he wanted to retire and ended up going on his merry way.
Orton later resurfaced with the Buffalo Bills and is getting a shot to start.
It now appears that Orton wanted out of Dallas and to get away from the relationship from Tony Romo which apparently wasn’t a very good one.
From Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network:
The relationship in Dallas between Kyle Orton and Tony Romo was 'untenable,' per @RapSheet.

So while the Cowboys would have like to keep Orton as a backup heading into the season, the relationship between Romo and Orton was just something that couldn’t go on.
It would have been great to see that on the sidelines, though.

Maybe one day the Cowboys can reunite Orton and Romo and we will get to see the two men get along a little more.
