Now the series heads to St. Louis and Busch Stadium, a familiar location for playoff baseball at this point. The Dodgers will try to return the favor by stealing a game from the Cardinals on the road and therefore giving themselves a chance to close out the series at home if needed.
St. Louis will run a mid-season acquisition out there tonight, as John Lackey will be their starting pitcher. “I can see John Lackey jumping right into this and wanting to really make a statement to this organization,” manager Mike Matheny said of starting Lackey in this pivotal game, via the St. Louis Post Dispatch.
The Dodgers will turn to Hyun-jin Ryu in Game 3 of this series against Lackey for the Cardinals.
