The New York Giants improved to 3-2 on the season with 13 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to knock off the Atlanta Falcons, but the bad news is they lost starting running back Rashad Jennings to a knee injury after only 10 carries.

Jennings left after his first carry in the third quarter and initially said he didn’t think the injury would keep him out for too long, but cautioned he won’t really know until the results of his MRI.
The first-year Giants running back got the results of his MRI on Monday and it revealed he has a sprained MCL and the ailment will not require surgery. However, he is not sure what the timetable will be for his return to the starting lineup.
If Jennings is out until after the bye week he will miss two key road games against NFC East teams with the Philadelphia Eagles up this Sunday and the Dallas Cowboys in two weeks. Jennings has 91 carries for 396 yards and two touchdowns in his first season with New York after signing as a free agent this offseason.
In his absence, fourth round pick Andre Williams turned in a solid performance with 20 carries for 65 yards and a three-yard touchdown run in the closing minutes of the third quarter.
