Rob Gronkowski: We made Tom Brady look like Tom Brady

Rob Gronkowski and the New England Patriots went into Sunday’s game needing a win to put them back on the map. Tom Brady, one of the best quarterbacks of all time received massive criticism from the media and fans after a humiliating 41-14 loss at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs. The Patriots got back into the win column in a big way, dispatching of the previously undefeated Cincinnati Bengals by a score of 43-17.

Gronk stated to his brother before the game that his goal was “to make 12 look like Tom Brady.” Gronk surely did his part to reinforce Brady as one of the league’s best, as he caught six passes for 100 yards and 1 touchdown. After the game Gronkowski told NFL.com: “I went out there with my teammates and we made Tom Brady look like Tom Brady, after you guys were criticizing him all week, the fans, everything.”
Brady passed for 292 yards and 2 touchdowns to receive a passer rating of 110.7. It was milestone occasion for Brady as he became just the sixth quarterback all time to surpass the 50,000 passing yards mark.
Patriots fans chanted “Brady” throughout the game showing their faith in their longtime star quarterback. Gronk said that Brady’s play last night shows that he’s not slowing down. He added: “[Brady’s] an unbelievable player,” and that he’s “glad to play with him.”
At 37 years and in his 15th season with the team, Brady has accumulated many miles on his body. However Gronk certainly doesn’t see Brady as old: “They said he was old” “that’s BS. He’s a young buck in my book.”
The team and the fans have surely maintained confidence in their quarterback. It will be interesting to see if Brady can continue to win and continue to prove the doubters wrong.
