Jason Pierre-Paul believes the New York Giants are going in the right direction.
The New York Giants are serving notice to the rest of the NFL one win at a time. After a disastrous 2013 season that saw the team start 0-6, the Giants are 3-2 after a smothering comeback victory over the Atlanta Falcons. Defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul has a message for the league: get used to it.

“We are just getting started,” said Jason Pierre-Paul, per the New York Times. “We’re getting the young guys mixed in with the vets. We’re building something.”
Rookies Andre Williams and Odell Beckham Jr. each chipped in a touchdown as the Giants beat the Falcons 30-20 after the team trailed 20-10 in the third quarter. Quarterback Eli Manning was especially impressed by Beckham’s touchdown, noting, “We had never even practiced the pass route that Odell caught for the touchdown.”
Beckham’s touchdown put the Giants up 24-20 and the defense took over from there, shutting out Matt Ryan and the Falcons the rest of the way while kicker Josh Brown chipped in two insurance field goals to seal the win.
The Giants can now consider themselves contenders in the NFC East after being written off to start the season. They are only one game behind division-leading Dallas and Philadelphia, who each sit at 4-1.
Manning credited the rookies on offense as well as the team in general in post-game interviews, saying, “I’m proud of the team today. No one got uptight or worried. We just went about our jobs.”
Once again the Giants have a chip on their shoulder after being overlooked for a stretch. We know what this team can do when it’s motivated as such so it will be interesting to see how they respond in the future. If history is any indicator, look out for the G-men in 2014.
