The Florida State Seminoles came out slow out of the gate again during their game against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons before scoring 43 points after the first quarter in their 43-3 win over the ACC opponent. But the win came at a price as starting running back Karlos Williams was injured.

Williams sprained his ankle after 11 carries for 50 yards and is “probably” out for this week’s game against the Syracuse Orange, according to head coach Jimbo Fisher.
The 6-1, 225-pound senior was coming off his best game of the season against the North Carolina State Wolfpack when he rushed for 126 yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries and added three receptions for 29 yards.
Jimbo says Karlos Williams (ankle) will probably be out for Saturday.

With Williams likely out for the game that means sophomore Mario Pender is expected to start and true freshman and former five-star recruit, Dalvin Cook, could see his most extensive action of the season and show the promise and potential he has fans in Tallahassee buzzing about.
Pender has 23 carries on the season for 154 yards and three touchdowns while Cook has 24 carries for 128 yards and two touchdowns. This will be a good glimpse into the future of the FSU backfield on Saturday.
Syracuse has the No. 3 rushing defense in the ACC and the No. 24 rushing defense in the nation, so they could find running room difficult to come by, but then again the Orange haven’t played an offensive line as talented as the Seminoles.
