For Bumgarner’s part, he says it is important for the Giants not to get ahead of themselves. “We’ve been in their spot, and we’ve come through the other side,” said Madison Bumgarner, via CSN Bay Area. “So we’ve got to maintain what we’re doing and just stay hungry.”
The Giants have proven time and time again under their current regime that they are a team to be reckoned with in the postseason. Many people might have doubted the Giants given the bumpy ending to their regular season. Those people probably should have known better, because this team appears to be built for postseason baseball.
Doug Fister will start for the Nationals as they try to defeat Bumgarner and the Giants on the road at AT&T Park.
