The Philadelphia Eagles rolled on with a win over the St. Louis Rams in Week 5, casting aside some — but not all — of the struggles that plagued them in a Week 4 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Quarterback Nick Foles was pleased with the effort, but still sees more the team can do to accomplish their goals in the crowded NFC.

“As a team we’re not there yet,” Foles said after the game, per ESPN, “but we’re going to continue to grind because I know the guys in the locker room and we want to strive to get better each and every day. That’s why it’s a good thing. Offensively we’ll continue to improve. We’ll look at the film and we’ll improve on things.”
One of the biggest improvements came in pass protection, where Foles was virtually untouched against the Rams one week after a 49ers pass rush limited Foles to completing less than half of his passes.
“I felt very comfortable,” Foles said. “I felt very comfortable stepping up and I thought they did a really great job of keeping me clean. I don’t think we had a sack.”
Foles was unsacked as he completed 24 of his 37 pass attempts and the offense chugged along to lift the Eagles to 4-1. With plenty of time to improve though, count on the Eagles only getting better from here.
