St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina will not be suspended after a skirmish between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Cardinals led to Molina shoving an umpire in game one of the ALDS.

More from Los Angeles Dodgers

Jon Heyman of CBS made the report Monday saying that no exact amount of the fine has been reported, but Molina will be heavily fined for his actions. Molina was not ejected from the game, but the MLB also wants to ensure that players shoving umpires is heavily against the rules.

The incident between members of the Cardinals and the Los Angeles Dodgers led to both benches clearing in the bottom of the third inning. Cardinals starter Adam Wainwright hit Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig in the upper back. Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez began exchanging words with Molina. Umpire Jerry Meals got in between the two, and Molina pushed Meals in the back while trying to get to Gonzalez.

The Cardinals went on to win the game 10-9 after a late push by the Dodgers came up short. In game two of the ALDS, the Dodgers evened up the series, winning 3-2.

Yadier Molina is only batting .125 in the series, but he is a easily one of, if not the best catcher in the national league. St. Louis is lucky that they didn’t lose him to suspension. Molina will suffer the consequences through a fine, but he’ll still get to sit behind the plate.
