Dodgers rely now on Greinke and Kershaw
The Los Angeles Dodgers are down 2-1 in the NLDS and facing elimination tonight against the St. Louis Cardinals. What better time for your ace and Cy Young Award winner in Clayton Kershaw to step up and have an impact. Kershaw was dominant all season, but in Game One of this series, he gave up a whopping eight earned runs.

The Dodgers will need Kershaw to forget about that outing and go back to his old ways, because if he doesn’t, the Dodgers will likely be eliminated. This is a big game for Kershaw’s reputation because if he steps up and pitches a gem, he will be able to say that he’s not just a good regular season pitcher.
History shows that Kershaw has been outstanding pitching on three days of rest. Kershaw, in three career starts pitching on three days of rest, is 2-0 with a 0.47 ERA. If Kershaw does live up to his usual billing and blanks the Cardinals Tuesday night in a Game Five winner take all, Zach Greinke would take the hill to try and send the Dodgers to the second round.
The combination of Greinke and Kershaw back-to-back has been lethal during the regular season, but the playoffs are a different animal. Kershaw has found less success in the postseason throughout his career than he has in the regular season. The Dodgers will need Kershaw to pitch like their ace Tuesday night.
They need this dynamic duo to salvage their season.
