Giants DB Rodgers-Cromartie wants to play through leg injury
Last Sunday, New York Giants veteran corner back Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie was forced to leave the game due to an apparent lower leg injury. Apparently trainers had noticed the injury starting to flare up during the week leading up to the game against the Atlanta Falcons and wanted to shut Cromartie down for the week but he refused. After he was forced to leave the game, his coach Tom Coughlin was asked by NJ.com about the extent of the injury and whether it would keep his defensive back off of the filed for a significant amount of time.

“He thinks he can play with it,” Coughlin said. “Pinpointing it is not something I’m not going to do. It starts with his ankle but I noticed he has had some issues way up high in the hip area also from time to time. I’m going to stick with the leg right now.”
“He felt he could work through it on a couple of occasions. I think Ronnie (trainer) wanted to shut it down and take a look at whatever is going on there. Hopefully we can overcome it. (Rodgers-Cromartie) thinks he can play through it as he rehabs and feels better about it.”
The Giants secondary would take a big hit losing Rodgers-Cromartie for a significant amount of time and at the very least if he is able to play through it it could bother him for the foreseeable future. The Giants are already dealing with injury problems with running back Rashad Jennings and linebacker Jon Beason. Jennings has been ruled out for this Sunday already and Beason’s status remains a question mark for New York
