Nick Young was not happy with low ESPN ranking

As the 2014-15 NBA season approaches, ESPN’s basketball staff is ranking every player in the league.  While many find this to be a pretty cool idea, Nick “Swaggy P” Young from the Los Angeles Lakers does not.

Young took a shot at ESPN on Twitter for ranking him No. 149 on its list.

It’s not a surprise to see Young upset with his ranking. He averaged 17.9 points per game this past season, which are obviously pretty impressive scoring numbers. But Young put up those numbers on a terrible Lakers team that let him hoist up shot-after-shot and he does little else than score, which are just a few of the reasons why ESPN probably gave him the rank it did.

Ironically enough, Young was one spot lower on the list than Lakers rookie Julius Randle, who calls Young “Swag Daddy” per the veteran’s orders, according to NBA.com.

However, given that Young appears to be truly bothered by this ranking, we don’t advise Randle asked to be relieved of his rookie duties because of them.

The Washington Wizards selected Young with the No. 16 pick in the 2007 NBA Draft. He has career averages of 12.2 points and 2.0 rebounds per game.

Young signed a four-year, $21.5 million contract with the Lakers this past offseason.
