San Diego Chargers (4-1) at Oakland Raiders (0-4)

Remember last week when the Chargers destroyed the New York Jets? Well, the Raiders are worse than the Jets by a substantial margin. That doesn’t mean the Raiders are going to lose by 50 points, but it’s possible the Raiders could lose by 50 points.

San Diego is playing great football right now, and they’re doing it by keeping their defense off the field as much as possible. The Chargers currently rank third in the league in time of possession at 34 minutes per game. That type of ball control on a game by game basis gives them a chance to win every football game. It’s not always pretty, and it’s not always fun to watch, but it gets the job done and that’s all that matters.

While Mike McCoy and his coaching staff are doing an excellent job in San Diego, the Raiders have already fired their coach Dennis Allen and replaced him with Tony Sparano. If Sparano is the guy you’re going with to try to right the ship and turn this whole situation around, you’re completely lost as a franchise. Welcome to Oakland.
