San Francisco 49ers managed to beat the Kansas City Chiefs 22-17 on Sunday and improve to 3-2 despite the toxic atmosphere around the franchise. From major off-field issues to the team’s disappointing start, things aren’t great in 49er-land. On Sunday evening, they got worse.

Multiple outlets are reporting that head coach Jim Harbaugh won’t be with the team next season no matter what happens in 2014. Harbaugh’s contract is up after this season and extension talks have been tabled. From the reports it appears Harbaugh and his “Dad Pants” have worn out their welcome. He and the team’s players are reportedly at-odds and the rift began when he pursued Peyton Manning in 2012.

Harbaugh’s personality grates on people, and even when he jumped from Stanford to the NFL, there were people around the Cardinal program who were happy he was gone. Now it looks like he’s burned enough bridges in San Francisco that he will be looking for work after the season.

Don’t feel too bad for Harbaugh though, there is no doubt he is an excellent football coach, despite his utter lack of people skills. Both the Oakland Raiders and Miami Dolphins could come calling after the season.

Until then we will all have to content ourselves with stuff like this emanating from San Francisco’s sidelines.
