Tobias Harris could be hurt by Markieff Morris deal
Orlando Magic Tobias Harris could be negatively impacted by the deal the Phoenix Suns signed Markieff Morris to.
Just last week, the Phoenix Suns agreed to contract extensions with the Morris twins, Markieff and Marcus.

The Morris twins were both members of the class of 2011 so they were eligible for extensions to keep them from hitting restricted free agency next summer. Markieff Morris agreed to a four-year, $32 million deal while Marcus Morris will make $20 over four years.
There are plenty of other players in similar situations that haven’t yet figured out their future. One of those players is Orlando Magic forward Tobias Harris. Numbers-wise, Markieff Morris might a good comparison for Tobias Harris. According to Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders, Markieff Morris signing a deal like could hurt Tobias Harris.
Tobias Harris is said to be looking for a four-year worth over $10 million per season. However, many teams, including the Magic, will likely point to Markieff Morris’ $8 million per-season deal as a more accurate figure for Tobias Harris.
Of course, Tobias Harris doesn’t have to sign an extension of any kind. He can play out the season, banking on showing enough improvement to warrant the type of deal is looking for in the summer of 2015.
Tobias Harris put up 14.6 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game while shooting 46.4% from the field, 25.4% from beyond the arc and 80.7% from the charity stripe. In his career, he’s averaged 10.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game while shooting 46.1% from the floor, 28.0% from three and 79.1% from the free throw line.
