This past Monday night on RAW, the WWE Universe got a huge treat with the return of the Rock in Brooklyn. It was a surprise that probably few in the crowd saw coming, but it was surely a welcome surprise nonetheless.
Now what was interesting was the fact that he made his appearance in a segment with one of the fast-rising young stars in the company at the moment, the Russian powerhouse Rusev. However, was that the last time that we will see these two in the ring together? Furthermore, could they see each other again on the biggest stage of the year?
According to a report from WrestleZone, citing F4WOnline, these two could see each other at WrestleMania 31 next spring in Levi’s Stadium, which would be a rather interesting turn of events to say the least.
"Although it looks very unlikely of a Rock vs. Rusev match, it could happen by the time WrestleMania 31 comes around. WWE officials did not want The Rock to do any more physical harm onto Rusev, such as The Rock Bottom, as they feared it would have hurt Rusev’s current push."
The last part of the report is very telling, with Rock getting the best of the monster, but not really in a dominating fashion. It most certainly left the door open for the two to butt heads once again down the road, such as around WrestleMania season.
Should this end up being the case, it would be a huge rub for someone like Rusev, who has yet to cleanly lose a match in a WWE ring.
Would you buy into The Rock facing off against Rusev at ‘Mania? Also, should the Brahma Bull be the first person to go over him clean? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
